This is a fun and gentle introduction to a second language and sounds in a relaxed and stimulating environment. Parents learn along their children and are provided with handouts with vocabulary and tips to practice at home. It is a great activity which can be carried out outside the sessions as well, making more exciting those holiday trips abroad or just to add an element or surprise to the daily routine (Spanish Wednesday!)
Older children can join our Little Monkeys class and have fun together! This is a fun and educational activity which both young and old will treasure for years to come.

Teaching is carried out in a stimulating environment, using songs, stories and pictures as a starting point and then practiced in a series of role-plays and interactive games.
The Cheeky Monkeys programme has been designed around some of the core vocabulary and structures from the QCA Scheme of Work for KS2 MFL and suitably adapted to this age group.
The main aim is to make your child aware of the existence of other languages, sounds and pick up some basic words and phrases which can later on be developed into something more complex, just as it’ll happen with their own mother tongue.
If they decide to continue learning once they reach KS2 at school, the knowledge acquired with our course will provide them with a head start. If they take on another language at KS2 level, having learnt another language previously already will be very helpful as well.
The course will link with other subjects of the Primary framework such as literacy, geography, maths and PSHCE.

It’s really outstanding what children can learn at this stage effortlessly! Their brains are very well suited for language learning and the results are really exceptional.
In those cases where classes are at a school offering the chosen second language at KS2 level, our tutors will work together with the childrens’ teachers to offer support and consolidation to what it’s covered in the class.
Children will learn real language which they’ll be able to use in real life situations. Some of the topics covered in the first years are: personal information, songs and games, celebrations, the weather, food and sport.
Overall, children will also learn to respect and understand the multicultural and multilingual society we all now live in, giving them and insight into other people’s cultures and traditions.
